Spitalfields Festival (http://www.spitalfieldsfestival.org.uk/) is on from 6 - 24 June 2005 and has some lovely musical events in some unusual places. In addition there are some walks around the City/East London, which are not the usual walks, they normally have actors and comedians.
City of London Music Festival, www.colf.org, starts 27 June.
There are still some tickets left for Glyndebourne around the time of the GEO conference. Glyndebourne is a fabulous private opera house near Gatwick, in a stately home. The web address is www.glyndebourne.com

We would also like to suggest that you let GEO know if you are interested in either doing:

walkabout tours in London on Saturday or Sunday that this can be arranged on a non-subsidised/pay-as-you-go basis, or
a trip to Cambridge and a guided tour around some of the old colleges. The cost of this would entail the rental of a minibus for the day, therefore if we had about 10 people wanting to do it, it could easily be arranged.

We are happy to help make arrangements if enough people are interested.

Reclaiming VAT

GEO is required to charge VAT in relation to our annual conference in London, 2005. VAT (Value Added Tax) is the UK's sales tax, charged on supplies of goods and services in the UK. Most businesses can reclaim the VAT which they incur on their business expenditure although in some cases there are minimum claim amounts. UK businesses will be familiar with the procedure for reclaiming through their VAT returns. In order to reclaim VAT, you will need the delegate’s VAT invoice, found at the bottom of their event registration confirmation, which was emailed to them on the date they registered for this event.

Conference and GEO Awards Attire

Attire for the conference is business/smart casual. Attire for the GEO Awards dinner on Thursday evening is jacket and tie for gentleman and cocktail or business for ladies.
