GEO California Forum – 17 MAY

GEO's 2012 California Forum

The San Francisco and Silicon Valley chapters of the Global Equity Organization are excited to co-host our third annual joint event: the GEO California Forum at Domenico Wines in San Carlos, CA. This event provides a unique opportunity for Stock Plan, Tax, Finance, Accounting, Human Resource and Legal professionals to gain greater expertise in the creation and management of global equity-based compensation programs. We are extremely pleased to welcome Marc Hodak as our Key Note Speaker. Marc is a professor of corporate governance at NYU and also a compensation advisor.

Based on your feedback from last year wanting more networking and breakouts, we will be starting earlier to accommodate more networking time and additional breakout opportunities. All of our sessions will be unique with fresh perspectives on hot industry topics. They will provide in-depth and practical guidance on the latest hot topics in global equity compliance, administration and design. There will also be time to share with your peers on topics relating to global stock programs. The Forum will conclude with a Wine & Cheese Networking Mixer.

Key Note Presentation:
The Arms Race in Equity Compensation Regulation

Marc Hodak, Professor of Corporate Governance at NYU and Compensation Advisor, will share with us the latest on regulations affecting equity plans and what we need to prepare for. Lawmakers and proxy advisors have been busy writing rules designed to constrain certain compensation practices. These rules are, in turn, keeping compensation specialists busy in trying to deal with, and often working around them, which is prompting more rules. This cycle of rules begetting rules is accelerating, dramatically complicating the design and administration of equity compensation plans. Marc will discuss where this process is going, what will be the effect on compensation specialists and the corporations they serve and what we need to know.
