Membership is open to individuals, companies and organizations. There are four membership categories:

Issuer Membership
Corporate Issuers are defined as companies that provide equity-based plans and programs as part of employee compensation.
GEO membership is complimentary for all Corporate Issuers.

Issuer Plus Membership
Corporate Issuers interested in realizing additional value from their membership may enroll at the Issuer Plus Membership level. Issuer Plus Membersip offers:

- Free access to premium content on the GEO website
- Free copies of all GEO publications
- An invitation to the VIP Reception at the International Conference
- Special recognition at GEO events worldwide
The annual Issuer Plus Membership fee is per Issuer Company, regardless of the number of employees who participate.
If you are the first person from your company applying for Issuer Plus membership, you will be directed to a page to setup a corporate account for your company. If an Issuer Plus membership has already been established for your company, you will be directed to a form where you can create your account under your company's Issuer Plus membership.

Provider/Advisor Firms provide services to companies providing employee equity compensation plans. Membership is according to size and geographic reach. Once corporate membership is confirmed, all employees working or interested in global equity compensation are entitled to become individual members, free of additional charge.

Global Plus Provider Membership – US$10,000 per year
- Global firms wishing to benefit from membership through extensive participation and sponsorship of GEO's events: Annual Conference, One-Day Regional Meetings, Chapter Meetings and Web Seminars

- Highlighted on Provider Directory
- Unlimited worldwide employee membership
Global Provider Membership – US$6,000 per year
Domestic Provider Membership – US$2,500 per year
Small Firm Provider Membership – US$1,000 per year
- Firms with 30 employees total or less (including share scheme professionals and any other employees of the firm)
Individual Provider Membership– US$395 per year
- Firms with only 1 employee total (including share scheme professionals and any other employees of the firm)

Individuals who are affiliated with any non-profit educational or research institutions are welcome to become GEO members.

Individuals who are affiliated with a national or international government agency/regulatory body are welcome to become GEO members.
