The HR community in the financial services sector has had to meet considerable challenges in recent times. With city bonuses already making headlines ahead of the next pay round, more challenges lie ahead. Please join us at the 2010 UK regional meeting, where you will hear first-hand experiences of the hurdles companies from the financial services sector and elsewhere are facing in an environment of ever-increasing checks and controls.

The agenda will include the following sessions:

  • Key Developments in the Financial Services Sector
    Janet Cooper of Linklaters will lead a panel discussion including Dawn Nicholson of PwC and Katherine Turner from Towers Watson, as well as representation from the FSA and Barclays Bank. This plenary session will be followed by a more detailed breakout.
  • Creating Wealth Through Creative Incentives
    Giles Capon from Ernst & Young and Anton Seatter from RBC will take a look at some plan designs which have been popular over the past 18 months and consider their future in light of ongoing government consultation.
  • Corporate Actions
    Phil Ainsley from Equiniti, Juliet Halfhead of Deloitte, Robin Kerner from National Grid and Jon Leggett of Equiniti will present experiences from the Talk Talk demerger from Carphone Warehouse and will recount the recent National Grid rights issue.
  • The Superpowers
    Nicholas Greenacre of White & Case will present the latest issues relating to equity compensation to emerge from the US, Russia and China.
  • Financial Services - Detailed Analysis
    Sophie Black of Mercer, Simon Hodges from Barclays plc and Jeremy Mindell of Henderson Global Investors will present a detailed analysis of recent developments in the financial services sector.
  • Tax
    Jeremy Edwards of Baker & McKenzie and Bill Cohen from Deloitte on current tax issues, particularly those affecting mobile workers.
  • Global Hotspots
    Bob Grayson from Shell and Mike Pewton of Global Share Plans will cover the current hot issues from around the world affecting employee share plans.
  • Design Developments and Trends
    The day will end with a panel, including Susan Henderson of Smith & Nephew plc, Jay Foley of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Judith Greaves of Pinsent Masons discussing developments in share plan design and related trends.
