Employee Ownership Australia (EOA) is pleased to collaborate with GEO to deliver an update on EOA’s initiatives related to working with local government, politicians, and regulators to advocate for removal of barriers to improve the regulatory and economic environment for employee ownership in Australian companies. In this session, two of our leading experts Andrew Clements (Partner, King & Wood Mallesons and Chair, EOA Experts Panel and Deputy Chair of EOA) and Mathew Ronald (Director, EY and Board Member, EOA) will provide an update to GEO conference attendees on the latest progress including an opportunity for GEO members and attendees to provide feedback and input into the advocacy direction.

Join in for a brief history of integrated and “alternative” equity-based incentive plans. This session will cover various equity types, trends and drives, and their suitability for various applications. We will cover the pros and cons (including tax effects) and share with you a practical “to do” list for when you get back to your office.

The session envelops South32's core values. South32 offers their All Share Plan to over 14,000 employees globally. They have worked hard to overcome limited financial understanding, remote mine site locations, varying levels of education, distribution challenges and language barriers. South32 was pleased to take home a GEO Award in April for Best Plan Communication for their global efforts to approach their vesting event this year, which included for the first time, 7,000 South African workers. Given the added challenges of South African-based workers, South32’s approach to communication and the process for all employees in seven countries will leave you with a unique perspective!
