We will review the corporate governance landscape in Asia-Pacific as it impacts executive compensation and especially long-term incentive plan practices, with a view of how recent changes and current trends such as increasingly stringent disclosure rules are likely to impact future practices. We will also provide an overview of the increasing visibility and influence of institutional investors – including advisory firms such as Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) – in Asia, and how their views of executive compensation governance are increasingly impacting regional market practices with regard to LTI designs.
