in association with WorldatWorkMonday, 14 September 2:30pm — 4:30pm

Organizations today face intense pressure and unprecedented scrutiny to demonstrate that executive pay is aligned with performance. There is growing concern that such pressure is forcing pay design conformity that erodes pay for performance linkage and alignment with shareholder interests.

Attendees joined us for an in-depth and engaging discussion about facing the challenges in designing effective executive pay programs that pass muster with the growing list of interested parties and critics.

WorldatWork assembled a panel of experts who explored challenges and successes in aligning executive pay with performance. Topics of discussion will include:

  • Say on Pay voting and how it has impacted pay for performance for better and for worse.
  • Resisting the growing trend toward a homogeneous and one-size-fits-all approach to plan design in favor of one tailored for a company's unique business strategy and goals.
  • Long-term performance measurement and the challenges in choosing the right robust goals and timeframes for measurement that will result in sustained shareholder value over time.
  • The latest update regarding SEC proposed rules for pay-for-performance disclosure and hear how organizations have already effectively demonstrated alignment between pay and performance in their proxy statements.

When something can help you slow down, mellow out and help you appreciate the small things in life we usually call into question its legality. But meditation is something that can do all that while taking mere minutes out of your schedule to help you enjoy the rest of your day more thoroughly and completely. I discovered this first hand six months ago when I took a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course through my employer, an experience that has truly changed my life (when your family can tell you've missed a day of meditation you know it works!). I encourage each of you to take the time and try it out at the upcoming NECF and judge for yourself, I know you'll be very happy you did. Sweatworking

SweatworkingTuesday, 15 September 7:00am — 8:00am

Attendees who wanted to get outside and have a good time with current or prospective clients and/or colleagues at NECF, tried "sweatworking". This growing practice of meeting clients and colleagues in a more active setting like NECF is a great alternative and is the perfect way to combine daily exercise with work productivity. The result is a "post-workout smoothie rather than a three-hour lunch" and that's just beneficial the whole way 'round. Fitness sweatworking options at NECF that were sure to get your blood pumping and the conversation flowing include hatha yoga, a spin class or a simple run or walk. Before you know it, you’ll be tweet bragging: "Just got an hour at the gym and landed a deal!"
