Dr. Schmid-Lossberg is a lawywer and serves as Head of Corporate HR at Axel Springer since 2008. Already from 1989 until 1995 he worked for Axel Springer, amongst other functions as Head of HR of the Berlin activities. Thereafter he bacame Member of The Management Board of KBC Manukaktur Koechlin, Baumgartner & Cie, Europe's biggest textile printer, followed by the position as SVP HR of Global One, Brussels, a telecommunications JV of Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Sprint. From 1999 until 2006 Dr. Schmid-Lossberg served as Head of HR an Legal of the Vitamins and Finechemicals Division of Hoffmann LaRoche in Basel, Switzerland, before he became EVP HR and Legal at the logistics company Kuehne + Nagel in Switzerland.

Dr. Schmid-Lossberg is President of the Hamburg Media School Foundation.
