Ben Needham, CEP
Head of Equity Plans
United States

Ben has worked with numerous small to large employers, both public and private, in all areas of employee equity compensation. He has experience interfacing with various brokerage platforms and software systems in delivering equity administration solutions. Leveraging his unique combination of advisory, outsourcing, brokerage, and issuer expertise, he collaborates with his business partners to address and solve the challenges of complex plan designs, compliance, strategic communication and administrative issues.

Ben currently runs the equity plan for Comverse. Comverse has a unique plan history; most recently including a 2012 spin-off from its Israeli parent company. Prior to joining Comverse, Ben was a consultant for ISP Advisors. He helped clients through the RFP and selection of a new vendor process, transition their administrative and financial reporting data onto new broker platforms, and provided period-end financial reporting services. Previously, he was with Qualcomm where he managed its 50+ non-US entities’ ESPP contributions and associated GL entries, prepared the quarterly diluted EPS schedules, and helped with the forecasting of EPS.  Before Qualcomm, Ben worked in a variety of roles at Fidelity. He was an integral part of the sales organization in identifying product solutions, particularly in meeting financial reporting needs related to plan intricacies of prospective clients. He also managed the financial reporting outsourcing relationship of 20 clients, which entailed implementing historical and compensation expense related data, reconciling historical expense, and providing training to new users and building custom reports to meet all of their ongoing financial reporting needs.

Ben is an active volunteer for the CEP Institute and is on their Curriculum Committee and Exam Development Committees. Ben has served as a member of the Board of Directors on the San Diego NASPP Chapter.
