SPEAKER: Pam Chernoff, Aon

3.00 PM – 4.00 PM: The Tax Bucket Challenge
4.00 PM onwards: Networking Happy Hour, sponsored by Morgan Stanley at Work

The Tax Bucket Challenge
What’s more confusing than a bucket of water dumped over your head? Trying to explain equity taxes without crossing the line into tax advice.

Participants want to understand what their awards mean, what happens when they sell and what they may need to consider at tax time. For equity teams, the challenge is providing clear, useful information while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Using practical examples—including the often-confusing relationship between Form 1099-B reporting and taxable gains—this lively session will explore what works, what doesn’t and how organizations can make equity tax communications easier for participants to understand.

Then stay and continue the conversation at our Networking Happy Hour, sponsored by Morgan Stanley at Work.

KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify approaches for simplifying complex equity tax information for participants.
  • Distinguish between participant tax education and individual tax advice.
  • Evaluate common tax communication challenges and apply strategies to improve participant understanding.
