Matthew is a Senior Associate at Tapestry Compliance, an award-winning UK-based law firm specialising in global equity incentives. Matthew advises world-leading companies on all aspects of their global equity incentive arrangements, including plan design and implementation, global legal and tax compliance and employee trust implementation and use. Although Matthew advises clients across many sectors, he leads Tapestry's work in the financial services sector and has significant experience and expertise with advising global banks, asset managers and insurers on global remuneration regulation compliance. Matthew is ranked as a ‘Star Associate’ by Chambers & Partners and as a ‘Rising Star’ by the Legal 500. Matthew is also a Trustee of Tapestry’s Employee Ownership Trust and is Co-Secretary to the Share Plan Lawyers’ Group Corporate and Regulatory Committee.

Tom is a Managing Associate who advises on the legal, regulatory and tax aspects of implementing and operating incentive plans for executives and employees around the world. This includes tax-advantaged arrangements, global plans, corporate governance and reporting considerations, and the set up and ongoing operation of employee benefit trusts.

Tom works with a number of UK-listed clients as well as global financial institutions and plays a key role in the work we do for TP ICAP, Aviva and GAM.

Tom has presented at GEO conferences and is fundamental to our global webinar programme, regularly presenting on technical and market updates. Tom also teaches on Tapestry’s Certificate in Employee Share Plans Course, as well as ProShare’s Introduction to Employee Share Ownership course.

Tom works with a variety of UK FTSE100 and FTSE250 companies on their incentive plans, with a particular interest in corporate governance considerations. 

Tom also works with a number of multinational clients, including those listed in the US and in Japan, on global compliance for their executive and employee share plans.

Tom can provide share plan specific legal, tax and regulatory advice across both employment and corporate transactions, including in relation to employee benefit trusts.

Aside from advising clients, Tom frequently teaches and presents across multiple forums, from Tapestry’s Certificate in Employee Share Plans and various webinars, to ProShare’s Introduction to Employee Share Ownership and at GEO Conferences in Europe and the US.

Mayura Arankalle is an Executive Director at Global Shares, a J.P. Morgan company. Mayura leads the Financial Reporting team that helps global clients meet IFRS 2, ASC 718 and local GAAP requirements. Mayura is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has a Master’s degree in Commerce. She has over 18 years of experience in stock-based compensation covering plan design, tax, accounting and valuations. Before joining Global Shares, Mayura worked at KPMG and BDO’s Reward Team in London.

Previously Roger was Group Reward Director for Legal & General, responsible for reward and employment strategy across the group.

Originally qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, and then specialising in employment tax with Ernst & Young, Roger has held senior HR and Reward roles with Sony, Prudential, SABMiller and Anheuser-Busch InBev.

In what remains of his spare time, Roger is a trustee of the SABMiller UK pension scheme, a Trustee of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Chairs its People and Remuneration Committee s and a volunteer crew member at his local lifeboat station in Calshot, Hampshire.

Julie has worked in the share plans industry for 20 years in both provider and issuer roles. Having worked previously for the Abbey National building society, and then Computershare as an Account Manager responsible for both existing client relationships and business development opportunities, Julie moved to her first issuer role as an interim in the share plan team at Kingfisher in 2014. In 2016, she joined The Sage Group plc, where she is now Director – Share Plans, responsible for the management of all the company’s equity plans including a Global Employee Share plan in 17 countries supported by a team of two share plan specialists. Julie was appointed as a GEO Fellow in December 2019, is a regular speaker at conferences and chapter events and is the current Vice Chair of the Proshare Global Focus Group.

Janet Cooper OBE,FGE, Non-Executive Director, Nurture Landscapes Group

Janet has over 30 years’ experience of advising on global executive and employee share plans, in the UK legal directory, Chambers Janet is ranked Janet as the top lawyer in this area. Janet developed and lead the employee incentives team at global law firm Linklaters, where she was a partner for over 20 years, and then co-founded specialist law firm, Tapestry, the ownership of which was transferred to an Employee Share Ownership Trust for the employees, and she left at the end of 2020. Janet co-founded in 1999 the Global Equity Organisation, and founded the GEO Awards in 2000. Janet was involved in founding ProShare 30 years ago and is on its Chair.

Janet is a non-executive director of Nurture Landscapes Group and Chairs its Remuneration Committee.

She is the first woman chair of 200 year old charity the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in its 200 year history.

Janet was awarded an OBE by the Queen for ‘services to equality, women’s empowerment and employee share ownership.

Hannah Needle is a Board Member and Legal Director at Tapestry Compliance and a Fellow of Global Equity with over 20 years of experience in global legal and tax compliance. Her expertise includes tax arising in connection with incentive plans, UK and global tax advantaged share plans, UK corporate governance requirements and best practice, employee benefit trusts, and transactions impacting incentive plans. Hannah has been at Tapestry for nine years and trained and qualified with an international law firm. She has served as a Board Director at Tapestry for four years, leading the transition to a fully independent employee-owned law firm. Hannah has been externally recognised as an expert in her field, including being named Best Lawyer in the UK for Employee Share Schemes Law by Best Lawyers, a Leading Partner by Legal500, and Band 3 by Chambers and Partners. She also holds a number of distinguished industry positions, including serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and as Chair of the Future Leaders Program at the Global Equity Organization, as Co-Chair of the Corporate and Regulatory Committee at the Share Plan Lawyers Group, and on the Board Committee for Share Schemes and Incentives at Practical Law Company. Hannah loves going to spas and drinking champagne, preferably together.

David has extensive experience and expertise in corporate governance, share plans, and legal matters, David has been a valuable asset since joining RBS in 2011. As the Head of Corporate Secretariat & Shareholder Services, David provides guidance on legal, tax, and regulatory aspects related to the bank's employee equity arrangements. His proficiency in implementing global equity plans, managing corporate actions, and ensuring share plan compliance makes him an invaluable addition.

David graduated from the University of Bristol in 2008 and joined the Allen & Overy LLP Incentives team, where he worked on a range of global, stand alone and transactional share plans matters.

Anna Fletcher is the Group Head of Reward at Rentokil Initial plc, based in the UK and has more than 18 years’ experience in reward. Prior to her current role she held similar roles in consumer goods and financial services organizations. Anna has been with RI for 5 years and in her current role is responsible for overseeing a wide range of reward initiatives across the group, including share schemes, executive remuneration compensation, and global mobility.
